The Great Smoky Mountains
By Bear Lake Staff / February 10, 2014
Thank you to Jerry Jaynes for being a content & photograph contributor to this blog post!
It’s winter in the mountains – but you can still get beautiful photos! Just a few miles outside of Bear Lake Reserve you will find the Great Smoky Mountain National Park – a place filled with the beauty and wildlife that you come to see when vacationing in the mountains. Jerry took this photo in February of 2008 just on the Tennessee side of Newfound Gap. At an elevation of approximately 5,000 feet, you can see just how beautiful the mountains are (EVEN in the winter!).
Jerry’s photo is currently being used by the National Park Foundation in a slideshow to advertise for the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. You can keep an eye out for all of Jerry’s photos at https://www.facebook.com/jerry.jaynes.75?fref=ts – trust me, they are gorgeous!
Do you have photos of your own of the GSMNP and surrounding areas? Send them over to Katie@BearLakeReserve.com and we will share them with the Bear Laker Family for you!
