The Lake & Hiking Trails

Bear Creek Lake

Although it’s officially named Bear Creek Lake, everyone calls it “Bear Lake.” This amazing 500-acre lake is situated at an elevation of 2,500 feet and features depths of up to 190 feet deep and summer temperatures of up to 80 degrees. Bear Lake Reserve owns 6 miles of the thirteen mile shoreline, where you can fish trout, small mouth bass, walleye, brim, and sunfish. Boats of all types are welcome.

Marina & Watersport Rentals

The lake is a wonderful location for watersports, as the water is calm, glassy, and smooth ninety percent of the time. The surrounding mountains form a natural barrier that protects the lake from the wind – and because of this, it’s a great place to learn to water ski and wake board. Anyone who has tried to do either will agree that smooth water is the best!

Watersport rentals, including Pontoon Boats, Jet Skis, Paddle Boats, Kayaks, Canoes, and Stand Up Paddleboards are available at the Marina. For reservations, contact the Concierge at 828.293-7414.
