Joey Laughridge — Assistant General Manager

Joey was promoted to Assistant General Manager of Bear Lake Reserve in October 2011. He has been with the resort since 2006, in the role of golf course superintendent. Raised in a golfing family in Western North Carolina his passion is a well-tended course. His philosophy is that members deserve the absolute best in their resort experience; whether dining at The Lake Club, relaxing by the pool or teeing off at our Jack Nicklaus designed golf course. Joey can be seen daily around the resort, faithfully accompanied by Jackson, his Collie-Shepherd mix dog, who is a fixture at the resort. Joey claims that if he didn’t show one day, his dog would be missed more than he would.

Dick Howard — PGA Golf Pro

Dick Howard has been the pro at Bear Lake Golf Club for over three years, but is hardly new to helping golfers improve their game.  His experience is vast, as he has played golf since the age of 10, been a PGA member since 1998, and has worked at numerous other country clubs prior to joining us here at the Bear Lake Golf Club.  When recently asked his philosophy of the game and about his love of the club, Dick’s answer was immediate: “One or two shots will bring you back around. Our 9-hole Jack Nicklaus designed golf course is not the easiest, but has the most amazing views in the region. In fact from the 7th tee you can see for at least forty miles.
