From the moment you see the Greeters Cottage you feel the patriotic spirit of the Fourth of July Weekend…flags flying and bunting draped on the gates to welcome you.
I love anything that makes us pause and count our Blessings, and take a moment to appreciate our freedom and all that we have in our country.
Being in this beautiful community set in a breathtaking environment makes you pause and realize what a special place Bear Lake Reserve is, and what wonderful people the BLR staff and owners are!
What would the Fourth of July be without adding a few patriotic touches to your home to honor the reason for the holiday?
During this weekend we enjoyed the Owners Pot Luck at the Mill Pond Pavilion, where the staff did a great job of grilling brats, burgers, and chicken, while the owners brought a side dish or dessert.
It was a great time to re-connect with old friends, and make new ones!
Also a time to watch the joy of a young boy make friends with a beautiful Irish Setter, or another boy make two new friends as he caught a red salamander in his sister’s shoe!
The music was provided by Paper Crowns and we all enjoyed the background music for the evening, and two boys were inspired to dance to the music.
Of, course, the highlight of the weekend was the firework display at the Amphitheater, where friends gathered to watch an extraordinary display with the beautiful mountains as a backdrop.
We will look forward to celebrating America’s birthday next year, right here at Bear Lake Reserve.
“God Bless America, Land That I Love”
